Kos

We’ve really been enjoying our time on this Greek island! We’ve explored the old town of Kos in the late afternoon watching as the town come alive again after the afternoon siesta. The town is beautiful, but attracts a lot of people from Europe on package tours…
Yesterday we rented a little red scooter “Fire-fox” (a.k.a. Piro-raposo) – this brave, but pitifully under-powered scooter took us all over the island yesterday. We first headed back down to Kefalos, and on a beautiful mountain behind the town found the little church of Johannes in a quiet spot, away from everything overlooking the ocean.
We spent some time on the beach at Kefalos again before heading back. On our way back we visited the mountain villages of Pili and Zia. Zia has amazing views at sunset – small streets, little shops and many tavernas!!
With fairly numb bums we enjoyed a delicious supper in Kos!! YEAH for Greek cooking!
Later tonight we’re off – catching a night-time ferry to Syros and then a short hop over to Mykonos to meet up with John and Candy.
